Though seven sitting councillors are competing against three challengers for the seven seats on offer, the Shannon MD will be a lot tighter than what is suggested on paper.
Ennistymon’s local electoral area has the smallest amount of places available with four seats on offer which suggests the fight will be tighter in North Clare than any other part of the county.
One new councillor is guaranteed in the Kilrush LEA with the unlikely possibility of more as nine candidates including four sitting councillors competing for five seats.
