A last-minute goal from Eoghan Casey steered Wolfe Tones to victory over Corofin in the second round of the Garry Cup.

Wolfe Tones 2-10
Corofin 0-14
Venue: Wolfe Tones GAA Grounds, Shannon

Corofin looked set to record their second win of the campaign when they led by the minimum with the final whistle fast approaching but a defensive error was pounced on by former Clare panellist Casey who fired home the all important goal.

The winners led 1-8 to 0-5 at the halfway point, their opening goal having come from the penalty spot with Colin Riordan converting.

Before the end of the third quarter the visitors were reduced to fourteen men when Gearoid Kelly picked up a second yellow card. However they produced some good pay after this and helped by good points from the Cahill brothers they looked to have victory secured until Casey struck for that all important goal.

Colin Riordan top scored for the home side who played a draw in their opening tie a week earlier, with 1-8 which included one two pointer
