Continued use of Newmarket-on-Fergus back roads by heavy goods vehicles approaching the M18 is proving to be “a nightmare” for residents, Cllr Pat McMahon (FF) has claimed.
Shannon is “losing a community” because of the lack of housing options available in the town.
Renewed calls have been made for Shannon Group to purchase the now derelict site that was once the Shannon Shamrock Hotel with Clare County Council have said they are considering applying the derelict sites act to lead to an improvement.
Frustration has been voiced with “the red tape” that has limited the amount of cleaning done in Clare rivers since the beginning of the year.
