GERRY Quinn joins Joe Melody on the latest episode of the Business Chamber Podcast, in association with Ennis Chamber of Commerce.

The former Clare hurler talks to Joe about his new venture at the Hydro Hotel in Lisdoonvarna which he now co-owns with Armada operator John Burke.

Gerry chats with Joe about his eagerness to transition from the world of elite sport to business, adding that he was “incredibly fortunate” to have the career he did, the pinnacle being his All-Ireland final appearance in 2002. A desire to prove to himself that he could succeed outside of hurling was Gerry’s primary motive in entering the hotel trade, rather than money as he highlights throughout the episode.

Since starting his first business in Crowley’s Bar in his native Corofin in 2002, Gerry has gone on to learn the importance of work-life balance and talks to Joe about his decision to purchase the Hydro and his plans for the future of the business.

Episode 7 of The Business Chamber with Joe Melody is available as a video podcast now on YouTube with a version on Spotify to follow.
