FOR THE second year in a row, the Shannon Airport Group has been shortlisted for Public Enterprise of the Year at the 2026 Business & Finance Awards.

Shortlisted alongside An Post, Fáilte Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta in the Public Enterprise of the Year category, the award highlights excellence in stakeholder engagement, operations and the delivery of sustainable, inclusive public value.

CEO of the Shannon Airport Group, Ray O’Driscoll stated, “It’s a real honour to be shortlisted for Public Enterprise of the Year alongside organisations such as An Post, Fáilte Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta, all of which make a tremendous contribution to communities and the economy across Ireland”.

He continued, “This recognition reinforces the significant progress we’ve made in recent years, from growing passenger numbers and expanding services, to investing in our facilities, sustainability and enhancing the customer experience. It also reflects the commitment of the team and our consistent focus on delivering for our passengers, stakeholders and the region we serve. As Shannon Airport and the Shannon Airport Business Park continue to grow, we’re proud of the role we play in supporting tourism, investment and job creation across the West of Ireland”.

Ian Hyland, President and Publisher of Business & Finance commented, “The quality of this year’s nominees is exceptional and reflects the important contribution these organisations make to Ireland’s continued success at home and internationally. That calibre of achievement is also reflected in the significant increase in entries this year, underlining the ambition, resilience and confidence of Ireland’s business community both domestically and on a global stage”.

This nomination is the latest in a growing list of national and international recognition for The Shannon Airport Group this year. Recent successes include a Routes World Award, Gold wins at the Digital Media Awards and Vega Digital Awards, and being named Ireland’s leading travel brand and top-ranked airport in the CXi (Customer Experience Insights) Report 2026. Shannon Airport has also been shortlisted in two categories at both the upcoming Aviation Industry Awards and Ireland’s Social Media Awards (the “Sockies”).

Winners of the 52nd annual Business & Finance awards will be announced at a gala ceremony at the Convention Centre in Dublin on Thursday 10th December
