MEELICK’s Conor Dolan has been appointed the new manager of the Offaly senior camogie team.
Dolan will be joined on the management by former Clare senior hurling goalkeeper coach Seoirse Bulfin who this year formed part of Fergal Lynch’s set-up with the Clooney/Quin senior hurlers.
At the October meeting of the Offaly Camogie Board, Conor was ratified as manager succeeding Jack Maher who served as manager for their return to senior in 2026. The side was managed by David Sullivan in 2025 when they won the intermediate title, Sullivan returned as manager of Scariff/Ogonnelloe’s senior camogie team this year, they exited in the semi-finals to Kilmaley.
Pamela Nugent was appointed as Offaly U23 manager and will serve as selector on Dolan’s senior ticket.
His highpoint in camogie coaching was as part of Cathal Murray’s Galway senior management which won the All-Ireland title in 2019, in his second and final year involved with the Tribeswomen. He returned to manage the Galway intermediate team in 2023.
In between this, Conor was coach to the Clare senior camogie team managed by Ger O’Connell in 2020 and 2021 before becoming joint manager with John Carmody in 2022.
On the club scene, Dolan took over as O’Callaghans Mills manager in 2022 in an interim basis with Colm and Davy Fitzgerald his coaches following the sacking of Donach O’Donnell who guided the Mills to contest the 2020 Clare SHC final. Dolan then followed Fitzgerald to Antrim as part of his backroom team for a season.
Now living in Sixmilebridge, Conor was manager of the Wolfe Tones side relegated from the senior ranks in 2023, he was in charge of the Clarecastle senior hurlers in 2016, also managed Tubber when they were in senior and spent four years involved with the Ardrahan senior hurlers. He has also been involved with clubs in Limerick and Tipperary. He was manager of the Newmarket-on-Fergus senior camogie side in 2025 when they won the Senior B title after failing to make the knockout stages.
Offaly Camogie Board Chairman Donal Rigney said, “We are thrilled to welcome Conor, Seoirse and Pamela into these roles. To attract a management team with All-Ireland winning experience is a real statement of intent for Offaly camogie. We’re confident they will build on the hard work of our players and continue to develop the game in the county. Having Pamela manage the U23s while also working with the senior group gives us a real pathway for our young players”.
