2029 target for completion of West Clare Greenway

A lack of progress on a greenway section from Ennis to Lahinch has been criticised by a county councillor with others stressing the need for the public to see the West Clare Greenway is progressing.
Ennis councillors have cautioned that a section in the northern side of the town would limit the functionality of the West Clare Greenway if improvements are not put in place.
West Clare’s Greenway will “surpass anything” offered by their Waterford and Mayo equivalents, key personnel behind the planned project have stated.
Funding to the value of €255,000 has been set aside for the West Clare Greenway.
An off-road greenway connecting Shannon Town and the Airport with Ennis has been mooted to add to the West Clare Greenway, plans of which continue to progress.

Elected representative and officials in the West Clare Municipal District will hold a presentation in September to gain a better understanding of the work required in bringing a world class Greenway to the county.
