Clare Bus will keep its fleet on the road for the immediate future as the National Transport Authority (NTA) have committed to funding the transport provider until the end of the year.
Bus signs that have been in place “for decades” have disappeared along the dual-carriageway connecting Clare and Limerick.
Buses using backroads in North Clare is “a serious, dangerous issue”, public representatives in the county have declared.
“A change in policy and mindset” is needed to lead to a greater use of Shannon Airport which one elected representative of Clare County Council felt has been “completely abandoned”.
