*Photograph: Páraic McMahon ESB have been slammed for their treatment of their workforce in West Clare following last Tuesday’s announcement that an expected 100 plus jobs are to be cut, one month after refuting claims such a scenario was on the cards.
Further frustration has been voiced with the current health offering for Ireland’s population in the Mid-West.

Long serving Cooraclare councillor Bill Chambers was unanimously elected as the Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District but his appointment to the Corporate Policy Group met opposition at the District’s first meeting since the local elections.
Mixed views have been expressed regarding a possible imbalance in the make-up of the Municipal Districts in Clare.
