September 22 to 25 has been confirmed for the Irish ladies open golf championship which will be hosted this year by Dromoland Castle Golf Club.
The New Year’s weekend men’s 9 hole stableford competition at Dromoland was won by Eamon Power with 23 points from John Higgins with 22, Paudie Dorgan with 21 and Paul English with 21. Cillian O’Connor won the gross with 21 points.
A wonderful day was had in East Clare golf club on Sunday last with over 70 members participating in the annual Captain’s Drive In.
The Autumn league final at Woodstock will take place on this Sunday commencing at 11am when all four pairings will play their matches.
Portumna Golf Club’s lady captain for the coming year Sharon Heenan pictured acknowledging Patricia Rowland who was the winner of the golfer of the year award. After five weeks of competition the Autumn league at Woodstock has reached the matchplay stage which will involve the leading four teams.
Denis Mulqueen has been named as Dromoland Golf Club’s golfer of the year.
Dromoland Golf Club recently held its night of champions while there was a duel between the Donnachas in the U12 county matchplay final.
The Autumn league continued at Woodstock last week when the format was fourball betterball.
