ANYONE found under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the Junior Cert disco will be dealt with by Gardaí.

That’s the message Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Triona O’Rourke has issued ahead of the underage disco at the Queens Hotel in Ennis tomorrow night.

The disco is confined to Junior Cert students and is alcohol free.

“Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Those found to have consumed alcohol or under the influence of other substances will be refused admission to the disco and will be dealt with by the Gardaí,” Sgt O’Rourke said.

Sgt O’Rourke advised parents to chat with their kids before the disco and remind them to behave.

“Parents will be contacted in all cases where the Gardaí were required to intervene. Parents are reminded to discuss these matters with their children beforehand and to insist that they not misbehave,” she added.

Sgt O’Rourke asked parents to ensure arrangements are in place for the safe arrival and collection of their children and to stay until their children enter the disco.
