Ian Galvin has returned to contact training giving joint managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor an extra option in attack for Sunday’s Munster senior hurling championship tie with Tipperary in Cusack Park.

Galvin who is the younger brother of midfield general, Colm has been absent since sustaining an injury away from the hurling field. The Clonlara attacker has returned to training in the last week and his form has certainly caught the eye of management who will not have forgot the Fitzgibbon Cup medallist was the man that scored the decisive goal against Tipperary last year, a strike that would ultimately kick start their run to the All-Ireland semi-final.

While the UL student is not expected to start, he will be pressing to appear at some stage as Clare look to make it two wins from two games in the very competitive provincial championship.
