ROAD MARKINGS in Corrib Drive which were โobliterated during resurfacingโ are to be renewed.
An appeal for Clare County Council to renew road markings in Shannon Town was issued by Cllr Gerry Flynn (IND) at a recent sitting of the Shannon Municipal District. Road markings in the area were โobliteratedโ following resurfacing works, he outlined.
He flagged, โdouble yellow lines at the exit of Corrib Drive that was put in place to improve sight lines is covered over and some marking around speed cushions on Gort Road still need to be reapplied and Bรณthar Mรณr (N19)โ.
Senior executive engineer, Tom Mellett noted that a new road surface was applied on the Gort Road earlier in the summer. He confirmed that any road markings in need of a fresh coat of paint would be taken care of swiftly.
โThey should have all been restored straight away,โ Cllr Flynn replied. โIt took years to get double yellow lines at Corrib Drive by the top of Fergus Rd, it took me ages to get them there in the first place,โ he recalled. The proposal was seconded by Cllr Donna McGettigan (SF).
