Donegan selected on Curtis Cup team

*Photograph: Joe Buckley Niall Cannon’s President’s prize attracted a big entry at Dromoland Castle golf club over the weekend when the winner was Brian Hickey with 61 points. He had two to spare over Tony Kelly with third spot filled by Tony Byrne, who also had 59 points.
WOODSTOCK GOLF CLUB’s JB Carr panel and management defeated Tralee at Woodstock at the weekend in the second leg of what proved to be a very strong performance.
Captain Padraig Sutton’s prize to the ladies at Ennis golf club was won by Phil Butler (31)`with 70 nett.
Vice-captain Geremiah Brennan’s prize was played for at Kilrush on Saturday and was won by Dominic Enright (12) with 39 points.
The Paddy Conn trophy, a scotch foursomes competition, was played for at Ennis over the weekend when the winners were Padraig Cusack and Fintan McEvoy with 48 points.
Margaret MacNamara (26.1) won the ladies 18 hole stableford competition at East Clare last week with 34 points. She won by two from Brid Hayes (18.5).
Patrick Garry and Philip Brigdale were the winners of the men’s fourball in Ennis at the weekend.
