HISTORY of music and dressing room bust-ups were celebrated for the St Patrick’s Day parade in Ennistymon.

Forty five years of Comhaltas Ennistymon were noted during the festivities. Founded in 1981, Comhaltas continues to have a leading role in North Clare.

Traditional music kicked off the celebrations from 2pm before the parade set off from Deerpark at 3pm.

A total of 480 Easter eggs were handed out during the celebrations to young children participating. Mol an Óige Steiner National School gave the message ‘listen to the youth’ while bringing big numbers.

Reported scenes of a bust-up in the Cork senior hurling dressing room from the All-Ireland final were created by one of the more entertaining floats with younger members of Ennistymon GAA and Liscannor ladies football club also adding to the atmosphere.
