Rescue figures revealed that 11 people were brought to safety by the Kilrush RNLI last year.
Reports of a capsized catamaran prompted the launch of Kilrush RNLI lifeboat on Sunday morning.
A five year old girl that was swept out to sea along the Shannon Estuary was rescued carefully by members of the Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 115 and the Kilrush RNLI on Thursday afternoon.
Undoubtedly wonderful memories are made on days by the sea but such is the power of the water that scenes of heartbreak are also part and parcel of life by the Atlantic as the Kilrush RNLI are well aware of.
