In the space of thirty four years the amount of people living in West Clare having to go towards Ennis and further afield for work has doubled, the owner of the West Clare railway Jackie Whelan has claimed.
At the beginning of 2018, the Chinese market stopped taking seven million tonnes of plastic waste which has led to Ireland being “full of farm plastic with nowhere to go”, the blame of which lies with farming organisations according to the owner of the country’s biggest glass recycling plant.
“A change in policy and mindset” is needed to lead to a greater use of Shannon Airport which one elected representative of Clare County Council felt has been “completely abandoned”.
