15 clubs to field an additional team this year

With golf courses set to re-open today (Monday), timesheets opened in recent days and within a few hours of opening the “full up” notices went up for Woodstock.
With a return to golf imminent, golf clubs throughout the country are busy preparing for an influx of members from the end of April.

Photograph: Gerard O’Neill Fifteen teams will compete for the 2021 O’Gorman cup, a senior football competition organised annually by Doonbeg GAA in memory of John O’Gorman who served Doonbeg and Clare GAA in a variety of positions over many year.

With the easing of Covid restrictions leading to the re-opening of golf courses, officials at Kilkee Golf Club are thrilled that work on a €270,000. development programme which will see the course upgraded along with the development of a 6 hole course to benefit the club’s junior sections is set to resume.
While the majority of club golfers concentrate on the various competitions in their clubs, those in the low handicap bracket aspire to competing in scratch cup events throughout the country and progressing on to qualifying to play in such prestigious competitions at the South of Ireland amateur championship.
*Keith Buckley. Photograph: Joe Buckley Golfing history will be made in Shannon in August of this year when the annual inter Pro competitions will be hosted by the club as this will mark the first time that the men’s and ladies events will be held together.
