ALWAYS wanted to have a go at Aussie Rules but never had the opportunity?

Well your prayers have been answered as the West Clare Waves, one of Irelands newest Women’s Aussie Rules teams, are running a taster session this Saturday at 2.30pm at Clarecastle GAA grounds.

“It’s good craic, all are welcome and no experience at all necessary, I think some girls think they have to have played football or rugby etc.,” club spokesperson Rosie Currane said.

The ARFLI Women’s league started two weeks ago and round two is coming up next Saturday in Galway.

The West Clare Waves won the Inaugural Draft Cup back in November and they will be going to the European Champions League in Amsterdam in April.

“At the moment we are trying to promote the game and the idea of Saturday is to get as many girls as we can out for a kick around,” Rosie added.

So lace up those boots and get stuck in!
