TWO BODIES have been discovered in Kilnaboy this afternoon (Thursday).

Circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies, a male and a female are under investigation by An Garda Síochána since this afternoon. They are treating the investigation as suspicious.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the incident at a domestic residence in Kilnaboy at approximately 2:30pm.The bodies of the deceased, a male and a female, remain at the scene. They are both aged in their fifties, it is understood.

The Clare Echo understands that a family friend made the horrifying discovery before alerting emergency services. RTÉ have reported that the initial indications are that one of the victims suffered a violent death.

The scene is currently preserved pending an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. No other individuals were present in the property this afternoon.
