Tipperary may have knocked Clare out of the Munster hurling championship earlier this summer but a lucky National Lottery player from the Banner county has exacted some revenge on their county neighbours after they scooped a €500,000 scratch card prize on a ticket they purchased in the Premier county.

Visiting has been banned at University Hospital Limerick until further notice as the hospital continues to manage high volumes of patients with influenza on the day recorded as the worst ever for overcrowding in Irish hospitals.

3% increase in use of Ennis Injury Unit
