The annual general meetings of the mens and ladies clubs at Lahinch golf club were held virtually on Thursday last (April 1) when the following officers were elected to serve for the next twelve months.
The unexpected death took place last weekend of well known golf broadcaster Peter Allis who was an honorary overseas life member of Lahinch golf club.
The days may be getting shorter as Winter approaches but competitions at Lahinch Golf Club continue to be well supported.
Shannon were narrowly defeated in the Munster final of the Jimmy Bruen shield played at Mahony’s Point golf course in Killarney on Saturday.
The annual Olive Fahy memorial cup will take place at East Clare Golf Club on Thursday, September 17.
Spanish Point were crowned Clare area Pierce Purcell champions on Saturday when they recorded a 31/2 to 1 1/2 victory over Woodstock.
Mention of golf anywhere and Lahinch is sure to come into the discussion. The famed North Clare links is known the world over and attracts thousands of overseas visitors each year.
