A slight rise in the number of persons in intensive care as a result of COVID-19 has been observed nationally.

County by county figures in terms of new cases have been disrupted due to the cyber attack on the HSE’s IT systems. Statistics on deaths nationally and vaccination tallies have also been impacted.

Nationally, a further 360 new cases of the virus have been diagnosed, NPHET have stated. A total of 42 persons are in intensive care, they are included in the 110 hospitalised.

Most recent data for Co Clare showed that the Shannon local electoral area accounted for the highest amount of the county’s cases.
