MILTOWN Malbay’s David Talty has been named among the next generation of aviation leaders under the age of forty.
At The Banqueting Hall in London on Wednesday, David was chosen as one of the Airline Economics 40 under 40 Class of 2026. Every year Airline Economics recognises the best and brightest young talent in the aviation finance and leasing community with its list of the foremost 40 individuals aged under 40 years of age.
David told The Clare Echo he was “delighted to be recognised as part of the Airline Economics 40 under 40 Class of 2026. It’s a privilege to be included alongside such a strong group of professionals from across the world in the aviation finance industry. It caps off a great few weeks following the arrival of our second child Seánie on August 30th. It also reflects Pivotal Corporate’s strong market position and highlights the impressive growth achieved over a relatively short period, made possible by the commitment and hard work of the entire team”.
Since April 2025, Talty has been Managing Director of Pivotal Corporate which has headquarters in Shannon with offices in Dublin, London and New York. He initially joined the company as head of corporate solutions.
Prior to this, he trained as an accountant with Shanahan Kinirons Fitzpatrick (now Fitzpatrick Donnellan) before moving to Northern Trust where he began his career in equity, providing accounting support to funds, ranging from €100m to €700m some of which were listed on the Irish and London Stock Exchanges.
In 2018, he moved into corporate services when he joined Canyon/Vistra, he progressed from client manager to client services director and head of client services.
As Managing Director, David oversees the day-to-day management of a business supporting lessors, private equity firms and servicers across aircraft ABS, warehouse facilities, term loans and other aviation financing structures.
Founded in 2021, Pivotal Corporate over five years has expanded ten-fold to employ approximately 100 people. Married to Kate, they have two sons Daithí Óg and Seánie who arrived five weeks early on August 30th.
Actively involved in gaelic football, Talty was part of the St Joseph’s Miltown panel that won Clare SFC titles in 2015, 2018 and 2019. He was coach of the club’s senior footballers for three seasons from 2023 to 2025 after retiring from playing in 2022. He is currently coach of the Clare U14 and St Joseph’s Miltown U14 football sides.
David holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Limerick. He is also a member of the Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a diploma in IFRS from the Chartered Accountants of Ireland and a Diploma in Aviation Leasing & Finance from the Law Society of Ireland.
