Water restrictions have been put in place in areas of North Clare and will last for the foreseeable future.

Arising from the “unprecedented demand on the water supply network”, Irish Water has announced a number of restrictions will apply in an attempt to redistribute supply as a result of the prolonged dry weather conditions.

On Monday night, restrictions came into effect at Lahinch, Lisdoonvarna, Doolin, Liscannor, Ballagh-Cahersherkin (Ennistymon) and surrounding Group Water Supply schemes. This will occur from 10pm to 6am “until further notice”.

Customers in Ennistymon may continue to experience disruption due to ongoing watermain repair works while those in the Ballyvaughan and Fanore areas may also be impacted by these ongoing supply issues.
