A new COVID-19 testing centre in Clare is to open on Monday.

Replacing the existing facility at Cusack Park, a new COVID-19 testing centre will open at Ballymaley Business Park on the Gort Rd in Ennis. The unit formerly used as Keane’s Wholesalers building will be used.

Members of the public in Clare have had to travel for testing in Limerick, Cathal Crowe TD (FF) has highlighted. Additional testing will now take place in Ballymaley. “I know of some instances where the Ennis centre has been full to capacity, meaning some in Clare have had to travel to Limerick for their test”.

Deputy Crowe added, “Cusack Park has worked well as a testing centre up until now but it will now close as it is not suitable in winter months for attendees at the test centre or staff”.
