DESPITE the inclement weather conditions at the weekend which led to the cancellation of some sporting fixtures, nine games were played in the Clare under 21 hurling championships.

Kilmaley progressed to the B championship final where they will face either Clarecastle or Broadford whose game was one of the fixtures to fall foul of the bad weather.

The way is clear for the C championship decider where O’Callaghans Mills will take on Ruan thanks to their victories over Crusheen and Banner respectively on Sunday.

The inaugural D1 final will see Ennistymon who accounted for Bodyke face Whitegate, the latter receiving a walkover from Kilkee/Bealaha.

In the D2 final Clarecastle will take on Clooney/Quin, both having recorded one point wins over St. Josephs and Éire Óg respectively.

Meanwhile in the B shield final Newmarket-on-Fergus will face either Ballyea or Clonlara.

Parteen/Meelick, thanks to a one point win over Smith O’Briens are through to face either Wolfe Tones or Corofin in the C shield final while the D shield final will see Tubber take on Sixmilebridge or Scariff/Ogonnelloe.

Cian Neylon was Kilmaley’s scorer in chief contributing 0-9 in total, eight coming from frees.

In all they had eight players on the scoresheet. In the final they will face either Clarecastle or Broadford whose game was postponed because of inclement weather and will now go ahead next weekend.
