Primary schools have added a dash of colour to Shannon town in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.

An art exhibition to celebrate St Patrick’s Day was organised by community Gardaí based at Shannon Garda Station.

Students from St Aidan’s, Clonmoney, Cratloe, St Tola’s, St Connaire’s, St Senan’s and Stonehall national schools put together colourful pieces of art which have been proudly on display at Shannon Garda Station, Shannon Fire Station, Insomnia Café and Dunnes Stores, Texaco Garage and the Shannon Municipal District offices.

Garda Thomas Downey paid tribute to the students and staff in the schools for demonstrating their talents. “Although a parade could not take place this year this exhibition adds a splash of colour and spreads joy on behalf of the children to the residents of Shannon and the surrounding areas,” he commented.
