SECONDARY school students in Shannon put their artistic skills to use to display a Christmas mood.

Organised by Shannon Garda Station, over sixty entries were received from St Caimin’s Community School and St Patrick’s Comprehensive School for the competition. “A massive thanks goes out the teachers from both schools for encouraging participation in the competition and to all who submitted entries,” the organisers stated.

Inspector Paul Slattery, Sergeant Joe O’Donoghue, John Francis Chief Officer Security Airport Police and Pat O’Brien, Chief Officer – Fire & Rescue Shannon Airport were on the judging panel and reported a very high standard of entries.

Six winners were eventually chosen along with six honourable mentions. The successful six each receive a €20 gift voucher for Easons which was partially sponsored by Eoin Hock of Easons in Shannon Town Centre.

Robin Leenan, Lily Egan, Justyna Wesołowska, Willow Leenane, Rokoslana Sipko and Brooke McGorrian were the winning entries.
