PALESTINE’s Ambassador to Ireland will give a perspective on the treatment of her fellow country men and women at the hands of the Israelis during a discussion in Ennis on Tuesday evening.

In January 2020, Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid was presented her credentials as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ireland by President Michael D. Higgins.

She began her diplomatic service at the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995 as Assistant Chief of Protocol. She was then posted in Cyprus where she completed her doctorate in Business-Political Marketing, and she came to Ireland seven years ago as deputy to the former Ambassador.

Hotel Woodstock hosts Tuesday’s meeting organised by the Clare Labour Party which is open to the public and commences at 8pm.

Chair of the Clare Labour Party, Denis Vaughan was confident the event would help create a better understanding for those in attendance. “Amnesty International have recently reported indisputable evidence of crimes of apartheid against millions of Palestinians committed by the State of Israel. To better understand what is happening, why it matters to all of us and what we should do, please join us, the Clare Labour Party, in welcoming the Palestinian Ambassador, her Excellency Dr. Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid who will offer insights and perspective”.
