REVISED fixture details have been confirmed by Clare GAA for three hurling championship finals.
Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc with the sporting schedule across Co Clare this weekend with the top brass of Clare GAA involved in discussions with impacted teams across Saturday morning to rearrange fixtures.
Originally scheduled for 15:00 on Saturday, the Clare premier intermediate hurling championship (PIHC) final between Clarecastle and Corofin was brought forward to 13:00 on but shortly before 11:50, Clare GAA confirmed that the game would not be taking place.
Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg will now host the fixture at 14:00 on Sunday.
This move results in the Clare intermediate hurling championship final between Banner and Inagh/Kilnamona having both a change of venue. Páirc Micháel Uí hEithir in Cratloe will now host the third tier final which maintains its throw-in time of 15:00.
Also affected is the Clare Junior A hurling final between Ballyea and Newmarket-on-Fergus. Originally set for a 12:30 start in O’Garney Park in Sixmilebridge, there is both a change of time and venue with the decider moved to Tubber where the game begins at 13:00.
Patrons have been advised that pre-purchased tickets remain fully valid for the rescheduled fixtures. “If you cannot attend the rescheduled games and require a refund for unused tickets, please email us at reception.clare@gaa.ie after this weekend,” Clare GAA PRO Aaron Carroll confirmed.
