STEP Brothers and Talladega Nights star John C. Reilly was seen passing through Shannon Airport today.
The Hollywood actor and well-known Will Ferrell co-star has often professed his love for Ireland, with the Chicago native revealing he “kissed the ground” the first time he visited Ireland in 2015.
In a post on social media, Shannon Airport stated “From the trad sessions of Doolin to the departures lounge at Shannon. Delighted to welcome the multi-talented John C. Reilly, pictured here with our Marketing Assistant, Ciara”, posting a photo of the Gangs of New York star alongside the employee.
The post did not say whether or not Reilly was in Ireland filming or merely calling for a holiday, however the star did take time to pose for the photograph.
The actor’s love of Ireland is well-known, born to an Irish father and Lithuanian mother, Reilly served as international guest of honour at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dubin in March 2022. The actor also appeared on The Late Late Show the same month and sang a version of ‘Raglan Road’.
A viral video on YouTube of the American singing a rousing rendition of ‘The Wild Rover’ in Gus O’Connor’s Pub in Doolin from 2015 has attracted over 1.2 million views.
