ETHAN COUGHLAN has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with Munster Rugby.

Scrum-half Ethan will stay with the pronvice until at least 2028 as a result of the new deal.

Twenty four year old Coughlan has scored three tries in 31 Munster appearances since making his debut in the famous Champions Cup win over Wasps in December 2021.

Coughlan joined the Munster Rugby Academy in the summer of 2021 after helping Ennis RFC to the Munster U16s title in 2018 and U18 honours in 2020. He captained the Ireland U18 Clubs in Italy in 2019 before signing up with All Ireland League side Shannon RFC.

In total, he made ten senior appearances over his three years in the Academy before moving up to the senior squad in 2024. He made ten appearances in his first year as a member of the senior squad and has made eleven appearances so far this season, scoring intercept tries against Leinster and Glasgow Warriors.
