A CARGO flight was diverted to Shannon Airport this Thursday morning after it was declared an emergency.

At approximately 09:11 on Thursday morning, a cargo flight routing from Miami to Amsterdam landed safely at Shannon Airport.

Kalitta Air flight CKS-844, a Boeing 747 aircraft en route from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) declared an emergency.

In a statement to The Clare Echo, a spokesperson for the Shannon Airport Group stated, “The aircraft arrived safely at 09.11am. Emergency services, which had been awaiting the aircraft arrival, were stood down. Services at Shannon Airport did not experience any disruption during this period and the airport continues to operate its normal schedule today”.
