A number of exciting contests are on the cards, chief among them the meeting of Sixmilebridge and Ballyea following Monday’s round two draw for the Clare senior and intermediate hurling championships.

Holders Ballyea will meet 2017 winners Sixmilebridge who are now coached by Davy Fitzgerald in the winners section. Last year’s beaten finalists Cratloe have been drawn against Inagh/Kilnamona. A clash with Clonlara is the rewarded for Éire Óg following their one point win over Kilmaley on Saturday while very little will separate Feakle and Crusheen. The four successful teams will advance to the quarter-finals with the losers in round three.

They were paired with Cratloe in the opening round and now Whitegate have another difficult task on their hands as they must prepare for Kilmaley, a second successive defeat for the East Clare men would see them back in the relegation semi-finals with a win securing their place in round three.

These fixtures will take place on the weekend of August 17/18.
