As expected Michael Cusacks overcame the challenge of Liscannor in the intermediate football championship on Saturday and in doing so sealed second spot in their group and a place in the quarter finals of the championship.

Michael Cusacks 5-16
Liscannor 0-6
Venue: Hennessy Park, Miltown Malbay

Playing against the wind in the opening half, it took the Carron based outfit a while to get a grip on proceedings but goals from Aidan McNamara and Domhnall McMahon shortly before half time helped them to an eight point advantage, 2-6 to 0-4, at half time.

They went on to dominate the second half and further goals from McMahon, Joey Droney and Aidan Forde helped them seal a comfortable win and consign Liscannor to the relegation play off.

The win has moved Cusacks ahead of their neighbours and rivals Kilfenora in the group but both go through to the last eight along with the group winners and one of the competition favourites, Kildysart.
