TRAIN passengers travelling to and from Ennis are being warned of bus transfers and revised timetables over the October Bank Holiday weekend as essential works affect rail services connecting Clare with Limerick and Galway.
Iarnród Éireann has reminded customers that a revised timetable will operate on all routes from Saturday, October 24, to Monday, October 26, and is advising passengers to check times before travelling.
Commissioning works on the Limerick/Foynes freight line will affect services to and from Limerick Colbert Station, with bus transfers operating between Limerick and Ennis for services to Galway.
Bus transfers will also operate between Limerick and Limerick Junction from Saturday to Monday, while services between Limerick and Ballybrophy via Nenagh will be replaced by buses on Saturday and Monday. No Limerick to Ballybrophy services will operate on Sunday.
The works are among a series of major rail projects taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend, including bridge, track, retaining wall and platform works between Grand Canal Dock and Bray, and overhead line works between Howth and Howth Junction.
There will be no DART services between Grand Canal Dock and Bray, or between Howth and Howth Junction, from Saturday to Monday inclusive. Dublin to Rosslare services will operate with bus transfers between Dublin Connolly and Bray.
On Saturday evening, works between Athlone and Ballinasloe will also require bus transfers on Dublin to Galway services from 6pm onwards.
Iarnród Éireann is advising passengers to check revised timetables on its website or app before travelling and to book Intercity journeys in advance.
The company has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the essential works.
