AN EAST Clare man’s meteoric rise…
Following the release of our first episode of the Level Playing Field podcast where we spoke to Ennis Track, this week we publish the second installment of The Level Playing Field: Exploring Clare’s Changing Communities Through Sport.
This weekly podcast is funded by Coimisiún na Mean and seeks to further enhance the media coverage in Clare and place a spotlight on the clubs, people and organisations that perhaps don’t get the publicity and recognition that they deserve.
Chris Jeuken’s meteoric rise from runner to fastest Irishman in the recent Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii is nothing short of remarkable. Based in Tuamgraney, Chris charts his journey, routine, preparations, recovery and future ambitions in a conversation with James Lynch and Eoin Brennan.
Representing Ireland in the men’s 30–34 category at the World Championships, he completed the race in 9 hours, 22 minutes and 52 seconds which includes a 1:14:45 swim, a 5:07:37 bike leg and a 2:50:17 marathon. Hearing is definitely believing for this week’s episode! Click below, and listen in.
