Dean Ryan and Cormac Murray have departed the Clare senior football panel.

Manager Colm Collins has confirmed to The Clare Echo that the duo left the senior squad prior to Clare’s Division 1 NFL promotion play-off against Mayo almost two weeks ago.

Murray who was introduced from the bench in wins over Laois and Kildare and the defeat to Cork has returned to club action with St Josephs Miltown where has he been in fine scoring form for Michael Neylon’s charges who are currently unbeaten.

Ennis native Ryan who joined the senior panel in 2014 which was also Collins’ first year has also left the squad. The Dublin based AIB employee plays his club football with Na Fianna, he maintained a regular starting role when Clare reached the All-Ireland quarter-finals in 2016 and also as they came agonisingly close to the Super 8s in 2019.

He had to settle for a place on the Clare bench this season and only had a brief cameo role in their loss to Cork. Dean was introduced for the injured Kevin Harnett on twenty two minutes but was replaced at half-time by former Éire Óg clubmate Conall Ó hÁiniféin.
