Saturday’s senior camogie championship tie between Sixmilebridge and Inagh/Kilnamona has been postponed.

The Clare Echo understands that a member of the Sixmilebridge panel had been in close contact with an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Friday, both clubs received confirmation as the Clare Camogie Board announced that the fixture would not proceed as planned on Saturday. 2018 champions Inagh/Kilnamona have two wins from as many games having defeated Truagh/Clonlara and Scariff/Ogonnelloe to seal their place in the semi-finals. Wins have not been as plentiful for The Bridge who have fell short against the same opposition.

Subsequently, their meeting this weekend would not impact who qualifies from Group 2. The game will be replayed on August 22nd.

Officials have also announced that the meeting of Kilmaley and Newmarket-on-Fergus will be held in Shannon and not Clooney as originally fixed. Other senior ties taking place on Saturday see Truagh/Clonlara and Scariff/Ogonnelloe do battle while Kilkishen/Bodyke face St Josephs Doora/Barefield.
