With warm weather forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend, the public have been reminded to adhere to current restrictions.

Gardaí will be policing the county over the Bank Holiday weekend in line with the predicted warm weather forecast that may result in extra visitors to coastal parts of Co Clare.

Efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 will not be helped by the fine weather that’s due to come our way, according to weather forecaster Alan O’Reilly.

Bank Holiday Monday looks set to bring sunshine and highs of 18c, which under normal circumstances would see coastal resorts packed to capacity.

Here’s Met Eireann’s forecast for the weekend:

Friday will start off cool and bright with sunny spells. Showers are forecast for early afternoon followed by a long evening of sunshine. Temperatures will remain cool though, topping out at 11c.

Early Saturday morning will be bright and sunny, with cloud creeping in before midday and staying put for the day. Top temperatures of 13c.

Sunday will be very similar to Saturday, with cloudy skies remaining. It will feel a little warmer though with temperatures set to hit 15c.

Be sure to have the shades and the suncream ready for Monday as early predictions suggest we are in for a beautiful sunny day with highs of 18c and not a drop of rain in sight (we hope).

Members of the public are reminded that they are not to venture 2km from their home unless conducting an essential trip.
