*US President Donald Trump visit to Ireland 2019

DONALD Trump is set to land in Shannon Airport this evening on his way back to the US.

The US President will stop in Shannon after attending the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland. This comes only a day after The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were called to Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg.

The Irish Independent reported that on Wednesday, “a suspicious package” in East Clare 12 hours after President Trump’s son Eric had left the hotel. However, the package was eventually “deemed safe,” stated by Spin SouthWest.

Trump’s aircraft experienced “minor electrical issue” as “lights in the cabin went out briefly,” described by The Journal, shortly after takeoff on his journey to Switzerland on Wednesday. Now aboard a Boeing 747 plane with a smaller fuel capacity, Trump has to make a pit stop in Shannon to refuel.

According to sources from the Irish Examiner, Trump is not expected to leave his replacement aircraft. Shannon Airport will be operating as usual this evening, with an increase in security
