A FIVE-star display from St Joseph’s Miltown goalkeeper Cóilin Hayes saw him keep out five goal chances to win the Martin Daly Autos / The Clare Echo player of the week.
Teenager Hayes is in his first season between the posts for Miltown but has been standing tall in their impressive campaign under new manager Seán O’Brien where they have amassed wins over Doonbeg and Cratloe to advance to the quarter-finals of the Clare SFC.
At Páirc Finne in Corofin last Saturday, Cóilin made a trio of impressive stops in the opening half from Jamie Moylan while he got better as the game progressed, repelling a Diarmuid Ryan bullet before capping off an exemplary man-of-the-match display by tipping away a Podge Collins 55th minute penalty.
