Abbie Salter-Townshend, Chisom Ugwueru, Lyndsay Clarke & Caitríona Finn check out the Shannon Airport Munster Rugby Women’s Team Bus

SHANNON AIRPORT will give Munster’s women’s rugby team a special send-off this Saturday as they depart in a newly branded team bus for the inter-provincial final.

Wrapped in Munster red and featuring Shannon Airport branding, the eye-catching coach made its debut last weekend as the team headed to Affidea Stadium for their Round 3 clash against Ulster. The squad delivered a decisive 38-17 victory, securing an unbeaten record in the round-robin stage ahead of this weekend’s final versus Leinster.

Last year marked the start of the two-year partnership between Shannon Airport and Munster Rugby Women, building on its long-standing support of the Munster Rugby Men’s team. The airport plays a key role in connecting both teams – and their famously passionate supporters – to away fixtures.

Clare members of the Munster squad include Chisom Ugwueru, Aoife Corey and Alanna McInerney.

Niall Kearns, Airport Director of Shannon Airport, said, “At Shannon Airport, we pride ourselves on making travel easy and that goes beyond the terminal. We’re delighted to support the Munster Rugby Women’s team with this branded coach for the final two games of the Interpro series, giving them the same stress-free start to their journey on the road as they’d experience with us in the airport. We’re backing Munster all the way and wish them the very best of luck for Saturday’s final”.

Munster Rugby Women’s team Head Coach, Matt Brown said, “It’s brilliant to have Shannon Airport behind us as a partner who really cares about how we get to games, at home or away. The new coach looks amazing – we were so excited when it was unveiled last week ahead of our trip to Ulster and we’re very proud to travel in it again this Saturday as we head to Dublin for the final”.
