AN EIGHTH win on the tracks was recorded by the Shannon owned Petes Noah.

Friday nights Galway card was a fundraiser for the soccer club, Bearna Na Forbacha Aontaithe and the nine race card also featured the opening round heats of the Sean Scully Memorial A5 Stake generously sponsored by the Scully Family and the W.G.O.B.A with Petes Noah owned by Shannon’s Peter Russell and trained by Donie Duggan of Tulla setting the standard on the opening heat.

As the traps rose for the opening heat Petes Noah on the wide outside and French Fearless towards the inner both showed pace racing towards the opening bend with Flyers Minnie going between runners as the bend loomed the. Rounding the bend, French Fearless cornered well and led by a length early in the back straight before Petes Noah loomed up passing halfway. Into the third bend Petes Noah (Burgess Bucks & Notimetotalk) went on and gradually extended the lead and scoring by four lengths from Flyers Minnie in 29.34.

Racing towards the opening bend in heat three, Drombeg Wild and Kilwest Beauty disputed the lead with Paradise Liberty close up along the inner rounding the opening bend. Racing into the back straight Kilwest Beauty moved on out wide and passing halfway the Keating Family Syndicate of Ennis owned daughter of Ballymac Anton and Burgess Millie led by three lengths as Paradise Liberty went second but the winner was in command out front with the Gerry Holian trained runner scoring by three & a half lengths in 29.46.

In the concluding heat Killanin Bono trapped well towards the outside and racing towards the opening bend he led from Hanover Hellboy with Burkos Tarzan and Scattery Beauty also close up rounding the turn. Entering the back straight Killanin Bono opened up a three-length advantage as Scattery Beauty went a clear second passing halfway. Leaving the back straight Scattery Beauty was now taking dead aim at the leader and although Killanin Bono led by two lengths off the home bend the fuel gauge was near empty as the Scattery Syndicate of West Clare owned Scattery Beauty (Ballymac Cashout & Work Your Head) lunged late to lead on the line and prevail by a neck in 29.72.

The opening contest of the night was an S2 graded sprint contest and from traps both Nashville and Burnpark Jaytee were both quite smartly into stride and racing towards the opening bend the pair led from Ballyea Jet and Say You Will. Rounding the opening bend the Maria Browne of Cree owned Burnpark Jaytee (Jaytee Jet & Seekers Vision) took a definite advantage out front and despite moving towards the centre of the track he stayed on well to defeat Ballyea Jet by a length in 19.23.

Saturday night’s Galway card was headlined by the A3 graded seventh contest over 525 yards with a lineup that featured the winners of fifty eight races between them and as the traps rose it was the red jacketed Lissatouk Dave the most prolific of the sextet that trapped best and racing towards the opening bend hen led from Donies Wood and Cloneyogan Sydny. Railing well around the opening two bends the son of Laughill Blake and Lissatouk Dolly quickly set sail for the judge early in the back straight . Approaching the penultimate corner the James McMahon of Cooraclare owned Lissatouk Dave was out in splendid isolation as Stonepark Sam went into second place but the bird had well and truly flown as Lissatouk Dave scored for the eighteenth time by three & a half lengths from Stonepark Sam in 29.37.

In the second contest Drombeg Cindy was very smartly into her stride but she drifted wide on the run up as the Michael Malone of Ennistymon owned Substance enjoyed a dream run along the rails racing towards the opening bend. At the turn Substance led by a length but the daughter of Slippery Robert & Be Slow Teresa ran very wide at this point allowing Drombeg Cindy to lead around the final bend but on straightening for home she battled back to lead close home and score by a length in 19.67.

In the early strides of the A5 graded contest less than a length covered the entire field as they raced spread right across track towards the opening bend where the blue jacketed Pronto Bucks held a narrow advantage . Turning down the back Pronto Bucks and Lissatouk Suzy kicked clear of their rivals with the pair racing stride for stride along the back straight. Leaving the far side Pronto Bucks still held a narrow advantage and although Lissatouk Suzy and Ard Roxy attacked again in the straight the Frank Casey of Newmarket-on-Fergus owned Pronto Bucks (Burgess Bucks & Churchtown Minee) prevail by half a length in 29.85.
