NEWMARKET CELTIC extended their lead at the top of the Maloney Hardware CDSL Premier Division while wins were also recorded by Bridge Utd, Inch Crusaders and Avenue Utd.
All of the big three, Newmarket, Bridge and Avenue scored four goals each and kept clean sheets as they recorded wins on Sunday.
Newmarket Celtic ran out 4-0 winners against Kilrush Rangers, the goals coming from Harvey Cullinan, Tadhg Noonan, Dean Hegarty and Brian O’Connor.
At Tom Steele Park, Bridge Utd defeated Lifford FC 4-0. Liam Buckley scored twice, getting on the end of two long range throws with Jack O’Halloran and Witness Odirile also hitting the target. Lifford had been competitive up until the concession of Buckley’s second goal.
A bright start from Avenue Utd saw them hit two goals inside the first five minutes as they picked up their first Premier Division win of 2025. Goals from Jack Dunleavy and Steven McGann powered them into early dominance at Lynch Park. Second half strikes from Ronan Kerin and Philip Talty saw Avenue come out as 4-0 winners over Shannon Town.
Inch Crusaders were 3-1 winners over Shannon Olympic at Lees Rd. Bradley Higgins with a brace and Ben Wragg hitting the target for the winners. Shannon Olympic missing a penalty to narrow the gap.
