CLARE MEN will be part of the Galway management looking to take down their native county in the All-Ireland U20 final this weekend.
Neighbours Clare and Galway clash in FBD Semple Stadium this Sunday at 14:00 in what is a repeat of the All-Ireland minor final of 2023 which also took place at the same venue.
Broadford’s Kieran Corcoran forms part of the Galway management and is coach of the side. He was a selector and coach with the Clare senior side for three years under Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor.
Subsequent to this, he was a coach with the Broadford senior hurlers for three seasons under Jimmy Browne in 2020, 2021 and 2022. He is the principal of Killaloe Boys NS.
Tubber’s Ronan Monahan, himself a former Clare U21 hurler in 2017 also forms part of the Galway ticket. He is strength and conditioning coach and assistant physio for the Tribesmen.
He won an U21B championship with Crusheen/Tubber in 2018, delivering an influential performance from full forward when they overcame Broadford 1-17 0-13. Ronan is one of the key players on the Tubber intermediate side, lining out at midfield.
Manager of the Galway side is former Clare coach and current Tubber trainer, Gavin Keary. The Loughrea native played at senior level with the club, captaining them when they contested the 2013 county final. He is currently coaching the club’s senior team and led them to consecutive championships in 2024 and 2025. He was coach of the Galway minor hurlers when they won the All-Ireland title in 2015. In 2018 and 2019, he was coach to the Clare senior hurlers managed by Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor. Subsequent to this, he was part of Mattie Kenny’s management with the Dublin senior hurlers and was also involved with the Irish Shinty side.
