RUAN’s BRID MACNAMARA has carved out more success for Clare camogie at a national level.

Recipients for the 2021 Camogie Association Media Awards and Mick Dunne Memorial Awards’ were announced on Tuesday morning with Clare taking the gong for best match programme.

Clare Camogie PRO, Brid produced the publication for the senior decider between Scariff/Ogonnelloe and Truagh/Clonlara which has been recognized as the best in the country. The accolade has previously been secured under her watch in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

On top of this, the former county secretary was named as PRO of the Year in 2011 and 2012 with social media awards received from the Camogie Association in 2011 and 2012.

Meelick-based photographer, Aidan Ryan received the photography award. He submitted two photos in his application, one included Truagh/Clonlara’s Eimear Kelly in action during the county final replay in November and the other featured Limerick’s Áine Cunningham competing against Kilkenny duo Colette Dormer and Grace Walsh in the league quarter-final in June.

Former Clare FM broadcaster, Darren Kelly has also been honoured. SportsDaz has been awarded for digital promotion, the website dedicated to camogie and ladies football has continued his active promotion of female sports during his time as presenter of Sideline View.

The awards will take place on April 30th in Croke Park stadium in conjunction with the 2021 Volunteer of the Year awards and the annual referee medal ceremony. This is the sixteenth year of the awards which honour the contributions of local and national press and volunteers in the promotion and development of Camogie.
