THERE ARE a number of vacancies on the executive of Clare camogie as the organisation heads into 2025.

Hotel Woodstock hosted the annual convention on Monday night when the positions of vice-chairman, secretary, assistant treasurer and delegates to Munster werenโ€™t filled.

Having completed her five year term in the role secretary Ann Sanz stepped down and there were no nominees to take over.

Assistant secretary Caroline McAuley-Rynne is to continue in the assistantโ€™s role for now before taking up her new position as vice chairperson of Munster camogie.

Assistant treasurer Martin Kaiser was another who did not seek-re-election and that position has yet to be filled.

The outgoing Munster representatives Ann Sanz and Marie Louise Kaiser also stepped down and there were no nominees to take up the roles.

Appealing to delegates to seek candidates for these positions, chairman Joe Oโ€™Donnell said that they will hope to fill the vacancies at the January meeting.

He informed the meeting that Smith Oโ€™Brienโ€™s member, Fiona Oโ€™Mahoney will allow her name to go forward for the position of vice chairperson with a view to going forward to the chairpersonโ€™s position in a yearโ€™s time.

Former officer and log time camogie official, Bridie Oโ€™Looney (Newmarket-on-Fergus) is the associationโ€™s new president.

She was the unanimous choice of convention to succeed the late Michael Oโ€™Halloran from Corofin.

Describing her election as โ€œa huge honourโ€, she sent best wishes to Truagh/Clonlara in the upcoming All-Ireland senior club final telling the attendance โ€œI played for Truagh when they first had a camogie teamโ€.

The following were elected at convention;
