Tipperary proved much too strong for Clare in this final group game in division 1 A in the Very Ireland senior camogie league this Saturday afternoon.

Tipperary 4-19
Clare 0-7
Venue: Cusack Park, Ennis

Clare went into this game with their fate already decided and they will play in Division 1B next season whereas this result has confirmed Tipperary’s place in the league final where they will take on Galway.

Clare had the opening two points of the game from Aine O’Loughlin and Ciara Grogan, the team joint captains but after this it was all one way traffic as a phyusically stronger and vastly more experienced Premier side took control.
They hit 2-7 without reply on their way to a half time lead of eleven points when the score was 2-8 to 0-5.

Eimear McGrath contributed 0-6 of the side’s first half tally with the first half goals coming from Grace O’Brien and Karen Kennedy.

The opening two points in the second half came from the game’s top scorer, Eimear McGrath.

Clare replied with a brace from Kilmaley’s Caoimhe Carmody and Caoimhe Cahill before the visitors asserted their superiority again, hitting 1-9 without reply as they built up an unassailable lead.

Clare made six substitutions during the course of the game but it didn’t upset the visitors; dominance on a day when Eimear McGrath got great assistance from Karen Kennedy, Grace O’Brien, and Julianne Bourke to mention some.

Lynda Daly, especially in the first half, Ellen Casey, Ciara Grogan, Caoimhe Carmody and Zi Yan Spillane tried hard for Clare throughout.
